Athens & the Acropolis - Wednesday 23rd September

Sadly it was time to depart our charming base of Nafplion this morning as we traveled to Athens, Greece's modem capital city.
After our morning drive we dropped out bags at our hotel then rode into the center for lunch in the bustling Plaka district.
This afternoon we began our sightseeing with a guided tour of the Acropolis, a must-see for any visitor to Greece.  Our guide was the knowledgeable & proud Faye who guided us expertly through the Acropolis Museum then up onto the 'mountain' itself.
Afterwards we rode the metro back to our hotel to change before returning to the Plaka by taxi (through Athens' terrible traffic) for an al fresco group dinner in aocal taverna below the Acropolis.
